Diabetes is chronic disease associated with abnormally high levels of sugar in the blood. Diabetes kills thousands of people each year. People with diabetes are at risk for developing high blood pressure. I believe that making children in school take yoga is a good thing. It not only gets them active and moving, but it also can lower their risks for getting Diabetes or hypertension in later years.

There are two types of diabetes I think. Type 1 and Type 2. Now im not sue which one is which, but one you get from family members or you can get it from having to much sugar.

Diabetes is the short name for the disease called diabetes mellitus. Diabetes results when the body cannot use blood sugar as energy because of having too little insulin or being unable to use insulin. Some of the health risks with diabetes are heart disease. Another health risk of diabetes is poor circulation and reduced nerve sensation.

I do not believe that school-aged children should have to exercise yoga techniques. There are many other ways of improving your health and I believe yoga would be a waste of time.

diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels. This can lead to blindness, kidney failture and nerve damage, and i agree with ryan on the fact that kids can do other exercises to stay healthy, but yoga still would be a good thing to do in school to keep kids healthy

Diabetes is a disease where your pancreas doesn't make enough or too much insulin. Some risk factors are obesity, heart disease, and unhealthy eating habits. I think it is a good idead to have students learn yoga. It will help them become more active and could also lower the risk of diabetes.

jhoward,

Diabetes is a disease that people get when their body does not produce or properly use the hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life called insulin. Genetics and Environmental factors such as obesity and lack of exercise appear to play roles in the cause of diabetes but they still do not know exactly the cause of it. People with diabetes have a higher chance of developing stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, nerve damage, circulation problems and damage to the kidneys. I agree that they should make the children do yoga if it really does improve health. It would help many children stay healthy and active.

Diabetes (diabetes mellitus) is a chronic disease involving irregularities in the body’s ability to use sugar. A few health risks related to the disease are high blood pressure, coma, and death. I think the government is right to make it mandatory for students to learn yoga if it will help them to stay healthy and avoid such serious diseases like diabetes. After all, they’re doing it for their country’s health.

Tim,

jhoward,

I agree that yoga would be a good thing for kids to do if it helps them stay active and moving as well as lower the risks of diabetes and hypertension. It would benefit them greatly.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects 16 million people a year. It's an autoimmune disease. It means that your immune system has gone haywire and is destroying the cells in your pancreas that produce insulin. Some health risks from diabetes are heart disease, blindness, and cases of renal failure. I say if doing yoga keeps you healthy then why not do it.
