On Monday, January 19, Martin Luther King Day, Barack Obama asked the American people "turn today's efforts into an ongoing commitment to enriching the lives of others within their communities, their cities, and their country."
What are your thoughts on this statement? Discuss ways you could enrich lives of others in our community, city, and/or country. Why would our Barack Obama ask this of people? Do you think you will take up the challenge?

I think that this is a good statement that has a lot of meaning. I could enrich the lives of others in our community by helping others in need. Barack Obama would ask this of people because he wants to make our country a better place and have equality for everyone. Yes, I do think that I will take up the challenge.
i think its good to try to make other thing better for others. one way i could make rhings better is to donate things to people less fortunate and to put some change in the little charity donation boxes. Barak obama asked this because he wants the U.S. to be a better place to live than it already is and he wants people to get involved to help clean up their communities and to help the less fortunate. i think i will because i feel really bad for the one that have very little to nothing and ithink it would be good to help clean up every once and a while around the community.
I believe that, that statement has a lot of meaning. I could help my community by doing community service and giving to charities. I could get involved with my church and other organizations.

I think that this is a deep statement, but I do not trust Barack Obama yet. I could enrich others lives by doing favors for them and being nice to them. He would ask this of people because he says he wants America to change, and this is one of his ways of doing so. I will take up the challenge
I feel like that statement has alot of history and feeling behind it. In my community to help others in need by giving them food and other things that most need and cannot afford. Barack most likely said something like this because the world would be a better place if everyone took time out of their lives to help others. I think I will take up the challenge as years go on. For right now though I'm just going to stay in school and stay with that.
i think that is a very good statment. To make things better for others i could take the time to help out with charites and help the less fourtunate. Barack Obama would ask this of people so the country can become a better place. I will take up the challenge.
I think this is a very good, strong statement. I could enrich the lives of others in our community by helping people in need or donating. I think Barack Obama asks this of people to make the U.S. a better, more equal place for all people. I thnk I will take up the challenge.
I think that this statement means alot to America. I could enrich the lives of others in our community by helping the needie people. Obama is probably asking this of people because he probably wants everyone to help out in their communities and to make their home a better place to live in. I think I will take up the challange.
I think that is a very noble statement. I could enrich the lives of other people by donating and doing even just small favors for people less fortunate. Obama asks this of us because if we work together we can make everyone's lives better. I think I will take up the challenge.

hHelp people that need help and give the people a challange that want to succeed
Ryan, it's interesting that you don't completely trust President Barack Obama. . . We'll have to wait and see how things unfold. I pray President Obama lives up to the peoples' expectations and that our country's economy is improved.
Many good ideas have been presented in ways to help the community. When everyone lends a helping hand, the community benefits in so many ways. I find when I give to others, I'm the one who feels blessed.
